A 57-year-old man has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for sexually abusing a teenager in his family circle. The abuse happened in April 2024.
The Specialized Police Station for Domestic and Gender Violence in San Carlos found out about the abuse last year.
The police and prosecutor’s office investigated. The court stopped the man from leaving the country and took away his travel documents. The court also said he couldn’t go near or talk to the victim.
The man was arrested on April 2 at a house in the La Juanita beach area, near José Ignacio. This happened after the prosecutor said he should be detained.
The sentencing hearing was at the Specialized Court of 3rd Turn in San Carlos. The man is guilty of repeated and serious sexual abuse.
Investigation and Sentence
The investigation led to the man’s conviction. He will serve his sentence in prison. The court made sure he can’t harm the victim again.
