Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was widely recognized for his portrayal of Karna in the epic television series “Mahabharat.” News of his demise has prompted an outpouring of tributes from the Indian entertainment industry.
His funeral was held in Mumbai’s Vile Parle district, attended by numerous celebrities. Among those offering their last respects were actors Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan.
Feroz Khan, who famously played Arjun opposite Dheer’s Karna in “Mahabharat,” shared a deeply emotional video. He spoke of his long-standing friendship with Pankaj Dheer. Their connection spanned from their school days to their iconic collaboration on the television screen.
In his heartfelt tribute, Khan stated, “It is with great sadness that I have to say, my very good friend Pankaj Dheer has left us.” He remembered Dheer as a true gentleman who always wore a smile. “I will miss you very much, PD. People like you are very rare,” Khan added, visibly choked with emotion.
Khan also reminisced about their shared activities beyond work. He recalled playing cricket together with Dheer. “You always cooperated,” he said. “From school days to ‘Mahabharat,’ we worked together. Love you PD. I will always remember you.”
