Lola Young Faints On Stage At All Things Go Festival, Shares Health Update

The crowd at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York got quite a scare when singer Lola Young suddenly collapsed on stage. The 24-year-old talent, known for her hit song "Messy," was performing "Conceited" at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on Saturday, September 27th. News outlets quickly reported the incident.

Young was rushed off stage for medical care. Thankfully, she soon updated her fans. "Hello, for everyone who saw my performance at All Things Go today, I am okay now," she wrote on her Instagram story that same Saturday. "Thank you for all your support." It was a relief for many who witnessed the frightening moment.

Before her performance unexpectedly ended, Young shared some personal struggles with the audience. According to reports from People magazine, she mentioned having "a couple of complicated days." This came after she had canceled a performance the day before, on Friday, September 26th. That show was Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Her manager explained on Instagram that Friday’s cancellation was "due to a delicate matter."

Addressing the festival crowd, Young bravely opened up about her recent feelings. "Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t go on," she said. "But you know what? Today I woke up and decided to come here, and I wanted to be okay… and sometimes life gives you lemons, and you just have to make lemonade." Her words resonated with many, making her collapse even more concerning.

Throughout the day, other artists on stage gave updates on Young’s condition. Her friend, 29-year-old Remi Wolf, spoke to the fans about the shocking event. "That was really, really scary," Wolf said. "My friend Lola is backstage and she is okay." A prominent news channel confirmed they had reached out to Young’s representatives for comment.

Young has always been very open about her health challenges, both physical and mental. She explained on Instagram how her life shifted after she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at age 17. The Mayo Clinic describes this condition as a mix of schizophrenia symptoms, like hallucinations and delusions, with mood disorder symptoms. These can include depression, mania, and a milder form of mania called hypomania.

"I can’t find words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life and my perception of the world around me," she wrote in 2022. "It has been incredibly hard for me to accept this part of myself, and I am still learning." She added that she often has to remind herself that she is a normal person, a human capable of amazing things. "My mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower," she declared.

Despite these personal hurdles, the singer is having an amazing year professionally. Her single "Messy" spent four weeks at the top of the UK singles chart in late 2024. It also climbed to number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA. Her third studio album, ‘I’m Only F***ing Myself,’ dropped on September 19th. It quickly reached number 3 on the UK album chart the very next week.

Young has also graced some big stages in the US. She performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, marking her biggest US show so far. She then appeared live during the MTV Video Music Awards 2025 on September 7th. That performance, held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on the "Extended Play Stage," saw her introduced by gymnast and influencer Livvy Dunne.

Looking ahead, Young has a packed schedule. She’s heading back to her home country, the United Kingdom, for two headline concerts. These shows will be at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on October 6th and 7th. After that, she will perform in London, Birmingham, and Newcastle throughout the rest of the month. Her North American tour is set to begin with two concerts at History in Toronto, Canada, on November 1st and 2nd.
