The knockout stage for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is now complete, pitting established champions against top regional contenders for the global title.
Three decisive best-of-three series played out on Saturday, finalizing the field for the highly anticipated playoffs. CTBC Flying Oyster, Top Esports, and defending champions T1 secured the last remaining berths.
They join earlier qualifiers KT Rolster, Anyone’s Legend, Gen.G Esport, and Hanwha Life. The competition is now poised for its quarter-final clashes, leading towards the championship match.
The qualification rounds also saw significant upsets. Top Esports notably defeated Bilibili Gaming, China’s top seed, in a close 2-1 series.
The League of The Americas (LTA) lost its final representative when CTBC Flying Oyster swept FlyQuest 2-0. This marked the end of the road for the region in this year’s tournament.
T1, the reigning champions, secured their spot with a dominant 2-0 victory over KOI. Their performance reaffirms their position as a formidable contender.
The quarter-final matchups are set to begin on October 28. Gen.G Esports will face Hanwha Life, followed by KT Rolster against CTBC Flying Oyster on October 29.
G2 Esports will challenge Top Esports on October 30. The final quarter-final sees Anyone’s Legend battle T1 on October 31. All matches are scheduled for the early morning hours, approximately 07:00 UTC.
