The Tigres del Licey announced the hiring of outfielder Taylor Kohlwey, as reinforcement for the 2022-23 season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League, dedicated to Don Tomás Troncoso Cuesta.
Kohlwey, 28, is an outfielder who measures 6’3, weighs 200 pounds, bats and throws left-handed and belongs to the organization of the San Diego Padres, with whom he saw action in Triple-A throughout the season. 2022.
“Kohlwey is a hitter with high control of the strike zone, as indicated by his on-base percentage. He has extra-base power and has a profile of being able to hit in the middle of the lineup, ”said general manager Audo Vicente.

In 126 games this season, playing for El Paso Chihuahuas, the lanky player averaged .297, with a .389 OBP, 11 home runs, 32 doubles, 82 RBIs, 86 runs scored and eight steals in 11 attempts.
In defensive terms, he left an excellent impression in the positions he defended, with 33 assists and only five errors in more than a thousand innings played.
The versatile player also has experience playing first base. In 2022, he appeared in 45 games at the position, 52 in left field, 13 in center and 28 in right. Which indicates that his defensive flexibility gives the Tigers depth and guarantees at various positions.
The Wisconsin native will arrive in the country on October 9 and is the fourth reinforcement announced by the 22-time National Champions, who had already notified the hiring of catcher and first baseman Lorenzo Quintana, left-handed pitcher Steve Moyers and outfielder Pavin Smith.
The 2022-23 Lidom season kicks off on October 15, when the Tigres del Licey visit the Leones del Esgido at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, starting at 2:30 in the afternoon.
