Lenovo has unveiled a new budget-friendly tablet designed for family and educational use, featuring a large display and specific content control functionalities.
The Lecoo Tablet 12.7, released under Lenovo’s sub-brand Lecoo, is priced at 1,399 yuan in China, equivalent to approximately $192 USD. Lenovo has not yet announced plans for its international release.
The device features a substantial 12.7-inch display with 2.1K resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate, aimed at providing an immersive viewing experience for both learning and entertainment.
It is positioned as a family and education tool, coming pre-loaded with the Tianjiao Academy suite. This feature offers comprehensive content access controls, allowing parents to manage applications, websites, and screen time on a 24-hour basis.
A robust 10,200 mAh battery powers the tablet, supporting 18W charging, which is critical for sustained use in educational settings or by multiple family members.
The tablet also supports external keyboard connectivity via Pogo Pins, enhancing its utility for productivity and schoolwork.
Powering the device is an entry-level MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, launched in 2022. While this 6-nanometer, 8-core processor is sufficient for everyday applications, it may not adequately support demanding high-graphics gaming.
It includes 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB using a MicroSD card.
Further specifications include four speakers for clear audio output, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and an 8-megapixel main camera. The tablet is constructed with a lightweight metal body.
