Lenovo’s AI Glasses V1: 2000-Nit Display, Real-Time Translation for $555

Lenovo has unveiled its AI Glasses V1 in China, a smart eyewear device boasting real-time translation and teleprompter capabilities, though consumers will not see the product launch until November 2025.

The announcement positions the V1 as a glimpse into future wearable technology, with a release date more than 18 months away from its reveal. This distant timeline suggests a strategic long-term play in the competitive augmented reality market.

Priced at 3,999 Chinese Yuan (approximately $550 USD), the AI Glasses V1 integrates a suite of artificial intelligence features. These include a Lenovo-developed digital assistant named Tianxi.

The Tianxi assistant supports voice commands and information searches. A standout feature is its real-time, two-way language translation, capable of processing both audio and text directly on the display.

The glasses also offer a “teleprompter” mode. This function displays slowly scrolling text, designed for professional content creators and public speakers. When paired with a Lenovo smart ring, users can advance the teleprompter text without looking away from their audience.

Weighing just 38 grams, the V1 is designed for comfortable all-day wear. It features a lens display utilizing light deviation technology, offering up to 2,000 Nits of brightness for outdoor visibility.

The lenses are 1.8mm thin, providing a 15x11mm eye box range for clear viewing even with user movement. Lenovo claims the design minimizes pressure on the nose and ears.

Equipped with two microphones and two speakers, the glasses enable hands-free calls. A control panel on the temples allows for managing calls, messages, and on-screen content.

The V1 includes AI-powered navigation, delivering real-time visual and audio directions. Users can choose between single or dual-eye display modes for navigation.

Battery life varies by function, supporting up to 4 hours in teleprompter mode and 8-10 hours for language translation. Content playback at maximum brightness lasts approximately 2.6 hours.

The device supports fast charging, reaching 0-100% in 40 minutes, and offers up to 250 hours of standby time. Connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.4.

However, the Lenovo AI Glasses V1 will only be compatible with Android smartphones upon its release. Sales are slated to begin on JD.com in China.
