Legislators and businessmen visit Banilejas industries plant

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, the president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), Pedro Brache, and the president of the Association of Industries (AIRD), Celso Juan Marranzini, led a delegation of legislators and industrialists who They visited the facilities of Industrias Banilejas in Santo Domingo.

The businessmen and legislators were received by the executive president of the company, Manuel Pozo Perelló, who gave them a presentation on the evolution of the INDUBAN group of companies from its foundation in Baní in the 1940s to the internationalization process that the Café brand has led. Santo Domingo to more than a dozen countries on three continents.

The INDUBAN group of companies has evolved from a green coffee marketer, to the export and industrialization of Dominican coffee, and in the last decade has created three divisions to complement its service offerings.

The agricultural division with farms in Hato Mayor and Rancho Arriba that this year produced more than 30,000 quintals of high-quality coffee and that has allowed the company to contribute more than 18 million plants for the recovery of Dominican coffee growing. The Hotels and restaurants division that serves more than 55 thousand rooms and the Santo Domingo Cafés that are in airports, shopping centers and universities.

The visit is part of the calls “Socialization days between business leaders and legislators” that have been instituted by business leadership and that include knowledge of companies and their respective facilities, as well as the production processes they develop.

The group was able to learn about the technologies that have made the INDUBAN plant in Santo Domingo one of the most modern in Central America and the Caribbean, with a 100 percent environmentally friendly roasting system.

The group visited the production, packing and storage areas. In the same way, the facilities of the Santo Domingo Coffee Institute where the baristas and specialists of the Santo Domingo Coffee and the hotels and restaurants served by the company are trained.
