Kim Kardashian Reveals Small Brain Aneurysm: Doctors Link to Stress

Kim Kardashian revealed a significant health issue during Season 7 of The Kardashians. In a trailer for the episode that aired on October 23, Kardashian, 45, was shown undergoing an MRI.

She later informed her sister Kourtney Kardashian, 46, that doctors detected “a small aneurysm.” Kourtney reacted with visible surprise.

Kardashian stated that medical professionals suspect the aneurysm, an inflammation of a blood vessel in the brain, is likely linked to "stress." Most brain aneurysms are common and do not rupture or cause serious health problems. However, a rupture can be life-threatening.

The reality star discussed the ongoing fallout from her divorce from Kanye West. The former couple shares four children: North, 11; Saint, 8; Chicago, 6; and Psalm, 5.

She described feeling "more stressed" due to her need to protect her children. Kardashian emphasized her role as a mother.

"Everyone around me can handle [the drama], but I want to protect my babies," she said. "They’re going to find out things. They’re going to grow up and see."

Kardashian added, "My job as a mom is to make sure that when that behavior happens, they’re protected.”

She revealed that she “was able to hide” Kanye West’s controversies from their children for a significant period. She noted that it is becoming increasingly difficult as they get older. Kardashian also compared her past relationship with West, 48, to having "Stockholm Syndrome."

"I always felt so bad and I always wanted to help," Kardashian explained. People might think she had the luxury to walk away, but she stated that this was not her reality.

"This person… we have four children together," she reiterated.

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in 2021 after seven years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in 2022.

Despite online rumors, Kardashian claims she has given her ex-husband many opportunities to be present for their children post-divorce. "There’s always speculation on the internet that I’m keeping the kids [from him]," she stated.

Kardashian affirmed, "He has never called once to ask [to see them]." However, she frequently sees claims on social media that she is withholding their children.

"So, when it’s not true or rational, I can’t engage all the time," she said.

She continued, "It’s a divorce, not a kidnapping. We haven’t left. We’re in the same place and have the same address, so he knows where his kids are."

Kardashian questioned what happened to the house West bought next door for co-parenting purposes. She had expected to share school drop-offs and pick-ups.

Her expectations for co-parenting were shaped by her parents, Kris Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian, and how they managed their own separation. While she is doing her best to move forward, Kardashian acknowledged that the stress does not entirely disappear.

"It’s like you breathe, and then you get nervous because it’s been too quiet," she shared. "So it feels like something is brewing."

Kardashian concluded, "I can’t stress too much about it. I still have to worry about a lot of other things and I can’t be a mess and have my kids see that. If they think I’m okay, then they’ll be strong too."

New episodes of The Kardashians are available every Thursday on Hulu.
