Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s leader, has laid out a grand vision. He promises to turn the nation into a beautiful and wealthy “socialist paradise.” This bold declaration came during celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party. He also spoke of growing the country’s nuclear strength. This aim continues, even with pressure from other nations.
News outlets reported these remarks on October 10, 2025. Yonhap News Agency shared the leader’s pledge. It said he aims for North Korea to be the “richest and most beautiful” land. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) confirmed the speech. It took place at Pyongyang’s May Day Stadium last Thursday. Many guests from abroad and local organizations were there.
During his speech, Kim Jong Un reflected on the Workers’ Party’s past. He stressed the need for economic growth. This must happen alongside building nuclear power. He sees this as a way to handle threats from “U.S. imperialists.” He noted global political problems that started in the 1990s.
The leader acknowledged ongoing political and military pressure from enemies. Yet, he believes North Korea’s standing as a loyal socialist member is rising. He told his people that if they work together, they can change their lives. He sees this happening in a big way within just a few years.
The anniversary event was a huge affair. It featured art shows, fireworks, and large-scale public performances. A big military parade was planned for Thursday midnight. But it was moved to Friday night because of rain.
Several important international figures joined the celebrations. Among them were Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Dmitry Medvedev. Medvedev serves as Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council. To Lam, the General Secretary of Vietnam’s Communist Party, also attended.
