Bollywood’s remake of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been in the news for several months due to growing speculation about its lead actors.
Initially, there were rumors that Sai Pallavi would play the role of Sita and Hrithik Roshan that of Ravana. Also, Ranbir Kapoor has been asked to play the role of Lord Ram. However, the latest news suggests that Hrithik Roshan has left the project and KGF actor Yash will take his place.
“Hrithik Roshan doesn’t want to play negative roles all the time. Although he loves the Ramayana script, he now wants to be the hero as his fans prefer to see him as a hero rather than a villain. After several rounds of talks with Nitesh Tiwari and Madhu Mantena, he decided to step back,” a production employee said.
Yash is currently looking for a script. His work is managed by an agency headed by Madhu Mantena. And he thinks that Yash suits Ravana. They are already in talks with Yash and he has shown a lot of interest in the film. If all goes well, the Ramayana cast will now consist of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash,” he added.
