One of the controversies that left Sunday’s day in the League Cup was the alleged bad inclusion of Kevin Mac Allister, author of the goal that gave Argentinos the classification and left Gimnasia out.
Cristian Malaspina, president of El Bicho, referred to the issue on Monday in radio statements: “I was surprised by the Mac Allister issue, it was an escalation that began in journalism. The reality is that Kevin was rechecked that he had 4 yellow cards. No There is only one image of Pitana showing a yellow card to Mac Allister, we are echoing a journalistic error.
The controversy arose since, with the result set by Argentinos, the version circulated that the defender had five yellow cards and should be suspended, but one of those cards – taken by Néstor Pitana – was not officially reported.
However, the president of the Wolf also ruled out the possibility of filing a complaint. “We saw the match again. The videograph confuses us all. Mac Allister appears reprimanded but was not reprimanded. We spoke to everyone at night, including Tapia, the matches were reviewed and Pitana maintained that he had not reprimanded Mac Allister,” he clarified Gabriel Pellegrino in the middle of Cielosports.
