After Kamal Haasan, now Naseeruddin Shah is trending everywhere for his statement on ‘The Story of Kerala’. Naseeruddin Shah is known for speaking his mind in Bollywood. Although many times because of this custom he also gets into trouble.
In an interview, Naseeruddin Shah compared the movie ‘The Kerala Story’ to Nazi Germany and declared it a ‘dangerous trend’. He says that during Hitler’s time, the government or leaders used to ask filmmakers to make these kinds of movies, praising them and showing them what the government had done for the people of the country. The Jewish community was despised. Because of this, many filmmakers used to leave Germany and go to Hollywood and make movies there. The same thing is happening here now. By saying this, Naseeruddin Shah is taking direct aim at the government.
He also said that his best movies like ‘Afwah’, ‘Bheed’ and ‘Faraz’ died at the box office but a movie like ‘The Kerala Story’ is rocking the big screen. No one went to see his film, but there is a crowd to see The Kerala Story. He says that people talk a lot about this movie, but they haven’t seen it yet and don’t want to see it.
However, Naseer Saheb believes that such hate-filled movies will not be able to be released in Bollywood for a long time. ”I hope this atmosphere of hate ends soon. How long will you spread the hate?
Nisaruddin Shah further said in the interview that it has become fashionable nowadays to hate Muslims. Even educated Indians are doing this. This is a matter of great concern.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari has criticized Naseeruddin Shah’s anti-government statement. Manoj Tiwari says that the film ‘The Story of Kerala’ is based on facts and if Naseeruddin Shah has any problem with it, he can certainly go to court.
Manoj Tiwari said, “He is a very good actor but Naseeruddin’s intention is not good. I am saying this with a full heart. down the street, then Naseer Saheb did not react to such movies.From the way Naseeruddin Shah Sahab came forward with this statement, he is not good as an Indian.
Union Minister SP Baghel also criticized Naseeruddin Shah’s statement. He said, “Your (Naseeruddin Shah) wife is a Hindu. Why are you afraid? I have a problem with your statement: Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, they all have Hindu wives. All their wives are Hindus, so what?” Does your wife have any problem? Union Minister Anurag Thakur also expressed his reaction to actor Naseeruddin Shah’s statement. He said: “People from all over the world want to come to India. There is freedom of speech in our country and that is why movies are made. If someone aims politically then he should go into politics and then speak up.
Anurag Thakur also said, “If there is such a serious problem which is related to the society and works to awaken the society, then why should anyone have any problem in making a film about it?” The movie is having a lot of success which is a proof that people have liked this movie.
Before Naseeruddin Shah, actor Kamal Haasan also called it a propaganda film. During IIFA 2023, Kamal Haasan’s statement about this film came out. Expressing his views, he said that it is a propaganda film. “I’m against propaganda movies. Putting up a tagline doesn’t make a movie a ‘true story’. It should be true in reality too, and I don’t like movies that work to divide people across the country.”

After Kamal Haasan, Kolkata filmmaker Anik Chowdhary called it a “propaganda film” for which it was heavily criticized on social media. Anik Chaudhary had said in an interview to ETimes that according to the film, all Muslims are supporters of ISIS, whose bedroom is written: “Nationalism is forbidden, being a Muslim is your identity.” ,
