A well-known figure in Malayalam cinema, Unni Mukundan, is currently navigating a tricky legal situation. His former manager, Vipin Kumar, has made serious accusations of assault against the actor. Now, a Kerala court has called Mukundan to appear in connection with these claims.
This isn’t just a minor issue; the actor is deep in legal hot water. Vipin Kumar, who used to manage Mukundan, claims the actor physically attacked him. The Kakkanaad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Kerala has specifically ordered Mukundan to show up. He is expected to be in court on October 27 to address the assault complaint Vipin Kumar filed.
Evidence Mounts Against Actor
This court order didn’t come out of nowhere. It followed a thorough police investigation. Officers managed to gather a good amount of proof. This evidence includes about ten minutes of CCTV footage. They also have statements from witnesses and circumstantial evidence. Even mobile tower location data played a part. Initially, some people claimed there was no proof of an attack or any CCTV video. However, the police probe found clear evidence. It strongly backed up the original complaint.
A Laundry List of Charges
The formal charges filed against Mukundan are quite specific. They fall under sections 115(2), 126(2), 296(B), 351(2), and 324(4). These legal sections cover a range of alleged wrongs. They include entering the victim’s apartment complex with harmful intentions. There are also accusations of a planned attack and verbal abuse. Death threats and damage to property are listed too. Notably, the report mentions throwing and breaking the victim’s sunglasses. Good news for Mukundan, though: these specific charges allow for bail. It’s widely expected he will seek bail through the usual court process.
Mukundan’s Prior Denial
Before the police dug up their evidence, Mukundan gave his side of the story. He held a press conference earlier to address Vipin’s complaint directly. There, he firmly stated he had never harmed Vipin Kumar. He even went so far as to say he would quit acting if proved wrong. Mukundan also strongly denied that Vipin was ever truly his manager. During that Kochi press conference, he made it very clear. He insisted there was no physical attack at all. He added that the whole disagreement had been unfairly shown in a bad light.
