Dolberg, now 27, first made his name at Ajax. He came through the ranks at Silkeborg before joining Ajax for the 2015/16 season. He stayed in Amsterdam until the 2019/20 campaign. After that, he moved on to Nice. His time there included loan spells during 2022/23. He played for Sevilla and then Hoffenheim in Germany.

The striker spent the last two seasons playing for Anderlecht. He is also a regular for his national team. Dolberg has earned 55 caps for Denmark, scoring 12 goals. His experience will surely be a boost for Ajax.

The club will face Benfica on November 25. That match is part of the fifth round of the Champions League league phase. Dolberg’s return could provide an extra spark for these crucial European fixtures. It feels like a homecoming for the talented attacker.
