Kapil Dev advised Kohli to talk to Sachin-Gavaskar, he said: if you want to rest, do it in IPL

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has been going through bad form for a long time. Kohli has failed to score a century in international cricket, including the IPL, for the last three years. Meanwhile, former cricketers are constantly giving their opinion on whether they get a place in the T20 team or not. Recently, Kapil Dev, who talked about taking Kohli out of the T20 team, once again made a big statement about Virat.

In a special conversation with ABP News, Kapil Dev said that he (Virat Kohli) is a very important player. If he has given them rest, then it is not a big deal. But the most important thing is how to get them in shape.

The former Indian captain, who won the World Cup for India for the first time in 1983, further said: I think there is a lot of cricket left in Virat Kohli. They need to work hard on their own. They have to fight with themselves. But if Virat is not in shape, it is not bad to leave him.

He further said, this is what we want Virat to return. But the important thing is what the selectors want. But if he’s not scoring runs, then if he’s released or rested, I have no objection to that.

Is Virat necessary in the T20 World Cup? In response, Kapil Dev said: Yes, I want Kohli to play in the World Cup, but for that he has to be fit. For this they have to play. In such a situation, if he will rest and play, then how will he get fit?

He also said, Virat is 34 years old. If you still ask to rest, then I feel strange. If he wants to rest, let him do it in IPL. Yeah, I said if he’s not scoring runs, then he should retire. But I think Virat should work hard and come back to the team.

In a conversation with ABP News, Kapil Dev also said that if he were the selectors for Team India, he would not have rested Virat Kohli on the West Indies tour. He further said that the most important thing is what captain Rohit Sharma wants. If Rohit feels that Virat should be on the team, then he should be on the team.
