Kaia Gerber, the familiar face from runways and screens, is finally opening up about her blossoming relationship with Lewis Pullman. The model and actress, 24, recently shared insights into her new romance. She spoke on the "Therapuss With Jake Shane" podcast, which aired on Wednesday, October 1.
Gerber got candid about her boyfriend, Lewis Pullman, 32. She admitted, “Undoubtedly, a lot of healing is happening in this relationship.” Podcast host Jake Shane agreed. He told Gerber he felt she and Pullman were "healthy" together. This comment touched Gerber deeply. She exclaimed, “I’m going to cry!”
This happy sentiment comes after Gerber’s advice for listeners. She suggested finding romance within a friendship. Gerber hinted that her connection with the Thunderbolts actor began platonically. Their bond grew from there before it became romantic.
“I truly feel that if you have the chance to date a friend, do it, because it’s so much better,” Gerber explained. She respects her friends deeply. “I never want to fight with my friends. I never want to get angry with my friends. I respect them. It’s a completely different thing.” She added a thought-provoking idea: “sometimes you forget you like someone when you love them.”
Gerber continued, urging listeners to pick partners wisely. “If you can date your friends, you should, or date someone you would be friends with anyway,” she said. “Don’t date someone just because you’re sexually attracted to them or because you feel lust for that person. You should sleep with those people, of course, but you don’t have to make them your partners.”

“I completely changed my personality and my values for someone,” Gerber recalled. “I always dated people older than me, so I was willing to give up everything.” She realized this approach wasn’t healthy. “I thought: ‘I can show you I love you by giving my life for you,’ which is not actually the way to build respect and trust, and it’s not good in the long term.”
Gerber explained the downside of such changes. “Because then you start to show a little more of who you really are in the relationship and they say: ‘No, I liked that person from before.’”
Gerber and Pullman started their relationship quietly late last year. They kept things private until now. According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly in January, “Kaia and Lewis have actually been together for a while.” The insider added that the couple began dating in early December 2024. They kept it under wraps. This was until her split from Austin Butler became public. Kaia and Austin had broken up in October.
