Eslabón Armado is currently riding a massive wave of success. They just dropped Vibras de Noche II, their latest album. It’s already one of the biggest hits this year, according to Billboard. Soon, they will light up the famous Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on July 19. This show is part of their Vibras de Noche Tour.
But guess what truly fuels the band’s lead singer? Pedro Tovar, the voice behind Eslabón Armado, has a surprising secret. He finds his inspiration for love songs in unexpected places. Turns out, he’s a big fan of romantic comedies. Yes, you read that right: chick flicks.
“I love writing songs about love and heartbreak because movies inspire me,” Pedro shared in an interview with US Weekly en Español. “I really enjoy rom-coms.” He even keeps his favorite one, Notting Hill, on his phone. That movie stars the iconic Julia Roberts.
Pedro explained how these films help him. “Those scenes give me ideas for my songs,” he said. “I wouldn’t say I’ve made a song exactly for a movie. But I often pick up details, feelings, or situations. Then, I turn them into my own music style.” Pedro is about to turn 23. He’s been in a steady relationship for four years. But he also admitted a breakup when he was 17 deeply shaped his musical heart.
A Fresh Start
This romantic side fits perfectly with Vibras de Noche II. Pedro calls this album a “new beginning” for the band. “We’ve moved past a time of confusion,” he noted. “Now, we feel much more focused. This album brings new sounds and fresh energy. It marks a brand new chapter for us.”
The album features songs like “Esa Noche.” This track, a collaboration with Macario Martínez, was recently named one of the best songs of 2025 by Billboard. Pedro shared that their partnership happened by chance. It started with a simple message on social media. Today, Macario is a rising star, and Pedro playfully calls himself Macario’s “good luck charm.”
The Dynamic Trio
Eslabón Armado now consists of Pedro, his brother Brian Tovar, and Damián Pacheco. All three are young, ranging from 20 to 24 years old. But they are also forward-thinking. This trio has changed Música Mexicana forever. They mix the traditional sierreño sound with modern vibes. Their lyrics are always full of deep feeling.
The group started in 2017 in Patterson, California. Since then, they have grown incredibly fast. Their hit song “Ella Baila Sola” with Peso Pluma made history. It was the first Música Mexicana song to reach the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This achievement truly changed the music game. It opened many doors for the genre around the world.
Family and Roots
One big reason for their success is their strong family support. The Tovar brothers’ mother doesn’t just travel with them. She also manages the group’s career. “She keeps us grounded,” Pedro shared. “She tells us not to spend all our money. Sometimes we don’t listen, though! For me, watches and chains are like trophies from all our hard work.”
This new push includes starting their own music label, Armando Records. They plan to sign new artists and expand their impact in the music industry.
Coming Home
Eslabón Armado has played on major stages like Good Morning America and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Now, they are bringing their tour to Guadalajara and Mexico City for the first time ever. Pedro described this moment as "exciting and very meaningful."
“Those are our parents’ homelands,” he said with clear excitement. “We’ve never played there before. Now we want to show them what we’ve built.”
As their journey continues to reach new heights, Eslabón Armado proves something important. The heart — whether it’s broken or full of love — remains the driving force behind their art. And sometimes, the best muse can be found in a really good romantic comedy.
