The current two-time national champions Leones de Santo Domingo announced that the two-time most valuable player in final series, Juan Guerrero and the stellar shooter Eddy Polanco will join the pack for the semifinal of the LNB Super League 2023.
Both will be on the court from this Monday, July 10, at night, when the best-of-five series begins at Fernando Teruel de La Vega.
Juan Guerrero has been one of the best players in recent years in the National Basketball League. He was the MVP of the last two LNB final series.
In the 2022 final, against the San Francisco de Macorís Indians, he averaged 51% shooting from the field, 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
Guerrero also played in the Venezuelan Super League with the Cocodrilos de Caracas team, a team that reached the second round of the playoffs. The Dominican averaged 25.2 minutes per game, 16.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
Eddy Polanco, winner of the rookie of the year award in the 2021 season of the breaking league, was one of the most decisive players with the team in close games, key in the team’s last two titles.
In last season’s regular series, Polanco averaged 15.2 points on 46% shooting from the field and 40% behind the three-point line. He comes from playing with Sporting de Portugal, where in 12 games he averaged 13.6 points.
The Leones de Santo Domingo start the semifinal against the Reales de La Vega this Monday, July 10, at 8:00 pm, at the Fernando Teruel.
The series moves to the Palacio de los Deportes Virgilio Travieso Soto, next Wednesday, July 12, starting at 8:00 pm, for the second duel of the prelude to the Final Series.
