Josh Naylor homered, had a career-high four hits and drove in six runs in a rare display of power for the Cleveland Guardians, who beat the Baltimore Orioles 12-8 on Wednesday night.
Josh Bell and Gabriel Arias also homered for the Guardians, who had gone 264 at-bats without a home run before Naylor homered in the fourth inning. Cleveland had the most runs and hits (17) so far this season.
He notched double-digit runs for the first time in a nine-inning game.
Naylor doubled in the third, hit a two-run homer in the fourth, added a three-run double in the fifth and finished it off with a one-run single in the seventh.
Steven Kwan had three hits and scored three runs for the Guardians, who rallied Baltimore from three games to back-to-back series victories for the first time since the start of the season. Before playing in Baltimore, Cleveland managed to win a three-game series against St. Louis.
Xzavion Curry (2-0), the second of seven Guardians pitchers, pitched the fifth for the win.
For the Guardians, the Dominicans José Ramírez 6-3 with two runs scored and one RBI, Amed Rosario 5-0 with one scored. Venezuelans Gabriel Arias 3-1 with a run scored and two produced, Andrés Giménez 5-4 with two RBIs.
For the Orioles, the Dominican Jorge Mateo 4-1 with a run scored and an RBI. Venezuelan Anthony Santander 5-1 with a run scored and two produced.
