Jorge Prado, low for Italy

Jorge Prado, baja para Italia

Bad luck hits Jorge Prado again. The man from Lugo has been in charge of communicating his withdrawal this weekend due to injury, when the MXGP World Championship travels to Italy for the seventh round of the season. The GASGAS pilot suffered a dislocated shoulder after a fall this past weekend, while preparing for the appointment in Maggiora. Although “it wasn’t a very big crash”, the Galician has chosen to sacrifice the Italian Grand Prix, with the intention of coming stronger to the races in Sardinia, which will be held on May 15.

“A specialist repositioned my shoulder as quickly as possible and I am grateful for that”, assures Prado that, despite the fact that the relocation had no consequences, he does not see himself with enough strength in his arm to dispute the appointment in Italy. Of course, is already “working very hard” to return as soon as possible and thus not compromise a fight for the World Cup in the highest category in which he remains very much alive. “I just want to make sure I can get back as soon as possible,” added the Galician, second in the general classification with 286 points, only behind Tim Gajser.

“It’s a shame I can’t race this weekend, I’m second in the championship and in the fight for the title… so I hope I can get my GASGAS back on track in Sardinia”, laments Prado in the official statement, although loaded with “100% positivity” before a “very long” World Cup calendar. “Let’s go for it all”, he warned on his social networks, where he has communicated the bad news to the world. “I hope I’m in Riola Sardo, as long as everything goes well. That would be a great achievement for me.” ditch Jorge, who will have to pass a medical check-up before traveling to Sardinia next week.
