After the colossal failure of DCEU marked with Justice Leaguea total backpedaling of the universe with some great successes in its purse (Aquaman and its billion dollar revenue)totally independent films that have won undeniable critical successes (The Batman, Joker)… The studio is now going through complicated times. In addition to the total abandonment of the film Batgirl which triggered a shortfall for the firm of at least $200 million, Warner swimming in troubled waters because of the interpreter of Barry Allen- Flash -, Ezra Miller. His intolerable behavior and run-ins with the law forced the Warner considered three firm solutions for the film’s future, including scrapping it altogether.
And yet, at the same time, the studio launched the construction site joker 2to surf on the first film of Todd Phillips. A feature film that should take on the guise of a musical, where Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga would share the poster. An announcement that left quite a few wary, but also excited many others. The film is scheduled for the year 2024.
Important information, relayed by Moviewebjust fell. Joker: Madness for two will cost the pretty sum of $150 million in revenuefar ahead of 55 million budget from the first movie. At issue: the staggering salaries of Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. The first two cities will collect the tidy sum of $20 million while the singer will win 10 millions. Remember that the first film brought in $1.074 billion revenue internationally.
One of Variety’s journalists announced that the film would be comparable to A Star Is Born (2018) where Lady Gaga shared the poster with Bradley Cooper.
