Joel Parra's Joventut (18) remains strong in Europe

Joventut Badalona won (75-92) on the Hamburg Towers court and is the sole leader of group A of the European Championship after the defeat of Partizan, their next rival, on the court of Turk Telecom.

The game was a carbon copy of the one played in Badalona in the first round, with the German team surprising the Catalan team in the first half and those of Carles Duran turning it around in the second half thanks to the defense and good team play in attack.

Joel Parra, with 18 points, most of them in the last quarter, was the top scorer for a Penya that chained its fifth consecutive victory in the European competition in Hamburg.

La Penya started the match very badly and Hamburg Towers went up ten points (16-6, min.7) with Jaylon Brown too free in attack. The Catalan team reacted with Pau Ribas and Pep Busquets (16-12, min.9), but the bad defense against Hollatz allowed the locals to recover the ten points of rent at the end of the quarter (22-12)

The dominance of the German team continued in the second quarter with Homesley keeping his team above ten points (30-19, min. 14). Joventut finally woke up with a pat from Birgander and a very distant triple from Pau Ribas (30-24, min. 15).

With Ante Tomic and Derek Willis on court, the black-and-white gained consistency under the hoops and speed in attack to get just one point behind their rival (36-35, min. 19), a difference that was maintained at halftime (38-37) .

Pep Busquets, with 8 points, and Vladimir Brodziansky starred in the green and black takeoff at the beginning of the third period. An 8-25 run put the Badalona team up 16 (46-62, min. 28) with Brodziansky and Ventura scoring from the three-point line.

Kotsar and Homesley managed to bring the locals back into the game in the last quarter (65-70, min. 33), but La Penya rolled up his sleeves again in defense and Ante Tomic again put the ten point difference (67-77, min. 35) that made Hamburg give up.

The locals no longer had the strength to try to squeeze the scoreboard again and Joel Parra starred in a whole waste of offensive virtues to leave the final result with the maximum difference in favor of Penya throughout the match (75-92).
