NFL Star Jacoby Jones Dies at 40
Jacoby Jones, the former NFL wide receiver who won Super Bowl XLVII with the Baltimore Ravens, has passed away at the age of 40. Jones’ family confirmed the news, but the cause of death has not been disclosed.
During his playing career, Jones played for the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Monterrey Steel. After retiring in 2017, he returned to Lana College as a wide receivers specialist coach, a job he also held at Morgan State and Alabama.
Jacoby Jones’ Most Famous Reception: the Mile High Miracle
Jones’ most memorable reception was dubbed the Mile High Miracle. It came on a 70-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Flacco with 31 seconds remaining in an AFC playoff game in January 2013. With Baltimore trailing 35-28 in Denver, Jones dropped behind safety Rahim Moore for the game-tying touchdown at the time.

In the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Jones became the first player to score on a reception and a kick return in the same game in Super Bowl history.

Rest in peace brother," shared former quarterback Matt Leinart. "Jacoby Jones was one of the most fun teammates and people I’ve ever been around.
