Iván Ania Warns of Formidable Granada in Upcoming Andalusian Derby Clash

Iván Ania has sent out a clear warning ahead of the upcoming Andalusian derby between his Córdoba team and Granada this Sunday. During the pre-match press conference, the Córdoba coach was quick to acknowledge the strength of their opponents, stating that, together with Almería, Granada is one of the best teams in the category. He also noted that despite noticeable casualties, Granada is a team that will be “up there” at the end of the season, making them one of the favorites.

As Ania pointed out, “We are one of the teams that creates the most chances in the category, and that’s because we generate a lot.” This is a key aspect of their game, but the coach is aware that they need to improve their home record, having lost their last three matches at the Archangel. Although these defeats were against teams high up in the classification, Ania emphasized the need to improve in certain areas.

With 14 games left to play, Ania is keen to maintain concentration, warning that “anything can happen.” Despite being close to their target, he cautioned against complacency, stating that “the month of February has been good, but now we have a difficult March ahead of us.” The coach is pleased with the recent run of five consecutive home victories, but he believes they can still “play better.” He cited the first half of their match against Tenerife as an example, where they were “very imprecise.”

Ania reflected on recent games, saying, “We are one of the teams that creates the most chances in the category, and that’s because we generate a lot.” However, he acknowledged that in matches against Tenerife and Ferrol, they struggled and were not at their best football level.
