The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Victor -Ito- Bisonó, commented that if it were not for thesubsidy maintained by the Government to natural gasIt would be much more expensive.
His statements were offered this Wednesday morning before members of the press, to whom he added that this price has not been reviewed for about six years.
“The subsidy continues to be important for natural gas, a readjustment of five pesos had to be made where the Dominican supplier is aspiring to at least 30that is, it is half of what it should be if the State were not subsidizing,” explained the official after participating in an activity at the Hotel Embajador, after complaints from drivers about the increase.
The minister assured that from his position they have done “everything possible” to maintain natural gas, since according to his testimony, he considers it “a friendly and more efficient gas.”
In addition, Bisonó regretted that the consumption of natural gas in the Dominican Republic is very little. “It’s very little because there aren’t many fueling stations,” he said.
“Consumption is very little because in principle there are not many logistics supply stations and that is also part of what we wanted to promote. The matrix of what is using natural gas today they do not reach 30 thousand vehicles”said the MICM minister.
