The possibility of an end to the 8-year-long war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen has arisen.
According to Al-Arabiya, the Saudi Arabian and Omani delegation will leave Yemen next week for talks with the Houthi rebels, in which a ceasefire agreement will be discussed.
The Saudi and Omani delegation will meet the Houthi rebels in Yemen’s capital Sanaa and discuss possible steps for a permanent ceasefire.
Al-Arabiya, citing its sources, said that if the negotiations are successful, a permanent ceasefire agreement will be reached, which will end the war.
If there is a consensus between the parties, the ceasefire agreement is expected to be announced before Eid-ul-Fitr. During the last period, the sanctions imposed on Yemen by Saudi Arabia have been relaxed.
