Irving, Green and Kuzma stay with their teams at the start of free agency

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic will try again together in Dallas and Draymond Green will seek more championships with Stephen Curry in Golden State.

The decisions were made quickly Friday in another fast start to NBA free agency, as usual.

Irving agreed to sign a $126 million, three-year deal with the Mavericks, who acquired the player in a flashy trade in February, but ultimately floundered and missed the postseason. A person with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed the deal to The Associated Press, leaving one of the biggest names in free agency out.

The Mavs had made it clear that Irving’s stay was a priority — and they delivered in the first hour of the free agency window that began at 6 p.m. ET.

Kyle Kuzma doubled his salary with Washington and Draymond Green ensured that the foundation of Golden State’s championship team stays together.

Kuzma agreed to a $102 million, four-year deal with the Wizards and Green will receive a new $100 million contract over four seasons with the Warriors.
