Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has supported the Afghan people and their demands since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, according to a foreign news agency.
“I visited Afghanistan three years ago and during that visit I sent a message to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani not to trust the United States,” Ali Shamkhani said.
He said that the United States was responsible for all the destruction and devastation in Afghanistan over the past twenty years and that the current situation in Afghanistan was compelling proof of American achievements.

It should be noted that the Taliban had also captured Kabul the day before, after which Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had fled the country.
