Get ready for a fresh coat of paint on Apple’s next-gen devices. Word from industry insider Majin Bu suggests a distinct new color palette is on the way for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This hints at Apple’s plan to make each iPhone 17 model stand out more.
Majin Bu spilled the details on what these new colors mean for the high-end iPhone 17 models. It seems Apple is thinking deeply about the look and feel for each shade.
The colors reportedly include:
- Black: This shade promises a timeless elegance. It seems inspired by the current Black Titanium on the iPhone 16 Pro. The finish will be matte, giving it a sophisticated feel and helping to hide fingerprints.
- Blue: Expect a very intense blue. This color takes cues from the Blue Titanium seen on the iPhone 16 Pro. In certain light, it might even appear close to black. It aims for a sharp, yet luxurious, vibe.
- Silver: This version is quite similar to White Titanium. It offers a bright look but with a warmer undertone. The goal is a clean appearance that never goes out of style.
- Orange: This color could be the biggest surprise of the lineup. It seems to draw inspiration from the Action Button on the Apple Watch Ultra. Expect a balanced, vibrant hue, perfect for those who want more than a subtle shade.

Beyond colors, the materials are getting an update too. Reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will switch back to aluminum frames. This comes after Apple used stainless steel and titanium in earlier Pro models. This could mark a shift in how Apple approaches durability and weight in its premium phones.
Meanwhile, the rumored iPhone 17 Air is also focusing on a unique aesthetic. This phone is expected to be incredibly thin, around 5.5mm. It will reportedly feature new, more faded colors. The primary blue color for this model, for instance, might be so light it almost looks white. This design choice aims to emphasize the phone’s lightweight concept, making users truly feel its slimness.
Apple plans to unveil all four iPhone 17 models in September 2025. This includes the standard iPhone 17, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
