iOS 26 Displays iPhone Charging Time Remaining

Apple just dropped the first beta of iOS 26, and it’s packed with new features. One of the coolest is the ability to see how much time is left to fully charge your iPhone.

When you plug in your iPhone, you’ll now see a timer on the lock screen telling you how long it’ll take to reach 80% battery. This feature is similar to what Android users have had for years.

The new iOS 26 design is also getting a lot of attention. Some people love it, while others are still getting used to it.

Here’s how the new charging feature works: let’s say your iPhone is at 68% battery. The lock screen will show you that it’ll take 25 minutes to reach 80%. If you open the Battery app, you can see more detailed info, like how long it’ll take to get to 100% – in this case, 1 hour and 54 minutes.

But what happens when you hit 80%? The lock screen will only show your current battery percentage, just like in older iOS versions. Apple isn’t giving us a specific time to reach 100%… yet. This is still the first beta version, so things might change.

Other new features in iOS 26 include changes to the Settings app and more. We’ll be exploring all the new features as we dive deeper into the beta.

For now, it’s clear that iOS 26 is all about giving users more control and info about their iPhone’s battery life. And with this new charging feature, Apple is catching up with Android in a big way.

We’ll be keeping an eye on iOS 26 as it develops, so stay tuned for more updates.
