Injured in a fall, she owes 1.2 million dollars to the hospital

Suffering from monkey pox, a man flees a hospital in Mexico

Anna Parsons, a 21-year-old student from New Zealand, fell 12 meters in early August in Yosemite Park, California, during a rock climbing session. But to his accident came another terrible news, reports 9news relayed by BFM TV.

Indeed, the health system being what it is in the United States, the family of the young woman then received the bill for the care provided by the American hospital: 1.2 million dollars. The victim was indeed seriously injured, but his relatives certainly did not expect such an amount.

During her fall, the student “broke almost all her bones: her neck, spine, pelvis, ribs and feet,” said her sister, interviewed by the New Zealand media. Her left foot could not be saved and she was amputated. Fortunately, her head was not affected and the doctors believe that she will be able to walk again one day.

The young woman, who had received a scholarship to study in Canada from the start of the next school year, is only partially covered by her insurance. So her sister started a support fund online to receive $500,000 and pay the rest of the medical bills. More than half of this sum has already been collected thanks to the generosity of Internet users, specifies BFM TV.
