Upcoming Indoor Season Objectives
Norwegian athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen has outlined his primary goals for the indoor season, focusing on the Liévin rally in France and the European Championship in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Additionally, he is considering participation in the World Cup in Nanjing, China.
Ingebrigtsen expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “My preparations are underway, and I’m eager to compete. I’m open to considering various racing opportunities, so feel free to suggest events, and I’ll take them into account.”
The machinery is running smoothly, and I’m hungry for competition.
As the outdoor season approaches, Ingebrigtsen has set his sights on the Tokyo World Cup in September. However, he will begin the year by competing on the indoor track.
He has confirmed his participation in two major indoor events: the Liévin rally on February 13 and the European Championship in Apeldoorn from March 6 to 9. His performance in these competitions will determine whether he attends the Indoor World Cups in Nanjing from March 21 to 23.
Competitive Ambition
Ingebrigtsen, an Olympic gold medalist in the 5,000 meters, is known for his competitive drive. He has already secured the European cross-country gold this season.
In European indoor track competitions, Ingebrigtsen has achieved five gold medals and one silver in three editions. Notably, the indoor world championships are the only major competition where he has not yet secured a gold medal, with a silver in the 1,500 meters in Belgrade 2022.
