India Squad Changes for Champions Trophy, Jaiswal Set for Ranji Trophy Semifinals

The Indian cricket team is set to depart for Dubai to participate in the Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19, after completing a clean sweep against England in the three-match One-Day International series at home. The team has announced two significant changes to its squad for the tournament, with Harshit Rana replacing the injured Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Varun Chakravarthy taking Yashasvi Jaiswal’s place in the main team. Jaiswal’s exclusion from the main team comes as a surprise to fans, but he has been included in the list of traveling reserve players.

Yashasvi Jaiswal to play for Mumbai in semifinals

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the three players included in the traveling reserve list will only be sent to Dubai if needed. As a result, Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to be available to play for Mumbai in the semifinals of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Mumbai’s team secured their place in the semifinals by defeating Haryana by 152 runs in the quarterfinals. They will now face Vidarbha in the semifinals at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur from February 17 to 21.

Gujarat to face Kerala in second semifinal

In the first semifinal of the Ranji Trophy 2023-25, Mumbai will face Vidarbha, while the second semifinal will be played between Gujarat and Kerala at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from February 17 to 21. The final match of the season will take place from February 26 to March 2. So far, Mumbai’s team has performed exceptionally well in the Ranji Trophy this season.

With Jaiswal’s availability, Mumbai’s team is looking strong for the semifinals. The team’s performance in the tournament has been impressive, and fans are hopeful that they will make it to the finals.
