IND vs ENG, 5th Test: Rishabh Pant beat England on day one, India scored 338/7, Jadeja undefeated in 83

The fifth test match between India and England has started. In the match being played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, India lost the toss and started batting first. But it did not start well and the team lost all five of its key wickets in 98. However, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja together not only revived the team but also brought it into a strong position. Together, the two shared a partnership of 222 runs for the sixth wicket and pushed the team’s score past 300. By the end of the day’s game, India had scored 338 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Ravindra Jadeja is undefeated in 83 runs from 163 balls, while Mohammed Shami supports him at the other end.

Previously, Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara opened the innings for India. Both players initially tried to play it safe, but after that they both came out with a score of 46 and went back to the pavilion. Pujara 13 and Gill took out Anderson after scoring 17 runs. Hanuma Vihari got a life saver but also kept going after scoring 20 runs. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also failed to play big innings. Kohli fell victim to the bounces scoring 11 and Shreyas 15.

At one point half of the India team had returned to the pavilion with a score of 98 and seemed to be in trouble, but after that Pant and Jadeja together managed the innings and formed a strong partnership. Pant played a 146-run inning and contributed significantly to bringing the team’s score over 300.
