Immersed in big budget movies... Small movies saved the box office embarrassment! Report View

This year has been disappointing for Bollywood so far. The first half of the year has passed, but except for a few select movies, none of the movies have been able to make a splash at the box office. Big budget and even big famous stars have not been able to stop movies from going under. The threat of Kovid-19 is still looming, the effect of which is clearly visible on box office receipts.

After several big-budget movies licking the dust, the low-budget documentary drama ‘The Kashmir Files’ gave theaters hope. Due to this, there was a hustle and bustle in the cinemas. This film was released on only 500 screens and its initial gross was only 3.5 million rupees. The number of screens for this film continued to grow, and at the same time, the collection also continued to increase rapidly. Anupam Kher’s leading man eventually earned Rs 253 crore.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s two big budget films proved to be flops and disappointed the audience. In this one movie was ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and the other was ‘Samar Prithviraj’. The same situation happened with Ajay Devgan’s ‘Runway 34’. Audiences sometimes like movies based on reality like ‘The Kashmir Files’ and want a story that can bring them to theaters.

So far this year, the choice of young people has been in charge of two films ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’ and ‘Jug Jug Jio’. Budget-wise, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ can be considered the only big commercial success of this year so far. The initial collection of ‘Jug Jug Jio’ was good, but it couldn’t maintain its awesomeness during the week. The long-awaited movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ turned out to be good only for Alia Bhatt. Her performance in this was appreciated. Action star Tiger Shroff’s ‘Heroanti 2’ wasn’t very special either. Also, it seems that stars make more money from brand advertising than from acting in movies.
