Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja’s studio in the T. Nagar area of Chennai received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday. A similar threat was also reportedly sent to the Director General of Police’s office.
Police responded swiftly to the incident. A Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately dispatched to the studio.
After a thorough search of the premises, authorities confirmed that the threat was a hoax. No explosives or suspicious items were found.
This incident marks another in a series of similar email-based bomb threats targeting prominent South Indian celebrities. Within the past two weeks, actors Vijay, Trisha, and Nayanthara have reportedly received identical threats.
Cybercrime and city police units are actively investigating the origin of these emails. They are examining the technical aspects of the communications to identify the sender and determine the motive.
Following the police clearance, normal operations have resumed at Ilaiyaraaja’s studio. Authorities have assured that the location is now secure.
