In a conversation with NDTV, once again talking about her mental health, Deepika has told how a caregiver is important in this situation. Her mother played this role in her life. Deepika said that if her mother had not recognized her symptoms related to mental illness, she would not have known what her condition would be at this time.
On this occasion, when Deepika was asked about the role of the family in relation to mental health, she said, “It is very important. The role of caregivers has also been very important in my personal life. That’s why my mother is here. That is why my sister has been a part of this campaign with such zeal for years.
Deepika further said, “When I hear stories from caregivers, I know that the mental health of the caregiver is just as important as the mental health of the sick person. In my case, if my mother and caregiver hadn’t recognized my symptoms and been proactive in take me to the doctor or help me, I don’t know what condition I would be in today.
