The fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2022 was nothing special for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. However, the team’s young fast bowler, Simarjit Singh, made many headlines. Simarjeet has bowled well, but together they were also in the discussion of his anecdote, which he told during the league.
It is worth noting that fast bowler Simarjit Singh plays domestic cricket for Delhi. At the same time, he has also been part of the Under 19 team. Simarjeet, in a video for Chennai Super Kings, recalled the incident a few hours before he took off the flight, he was told that he was not part of the team.
He said that for the first time I was selected in the Indian team. I was selected for the U19 Asian Cup. I got a call the day the flight was supposed to leave. They told me that since you’ve played the Asian Cup before, you can’t play by the rules.
Simarjeet further said that he had a flight at 7am but got a call at 11pm that he was no longer part of the team. After that my heart broke. Simarjeet said that after that, my parents said that you should be proud of where you are today. After which my lost confidence returned.
Let us tell you that in the IPL 2022 mega auction, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought Simarjit Singh for Rs 20 lakh, while last season Simarjit was a part of Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI).
