Huawei Unveils HarmonyOS 6 with AI Assistant and Beta Release

Huawei just unveiled HarmonyOS 6 at its developer conference. Richard Yu, a top exec, showed off the new features. One big deal is the Agent Framework – a smart assistant that can understand what you need. It’s like a personal helper that gets what you want.

This new framework has a thing called XiaoYi. It’s like a super-smart helper that can search stuff on your phone. It’s similar to Google’s Circle to Search. XiaoYi can scan what you’re looking at and find what you need.

Huawei also showed how Agent Framework works. You can talk to ChatExcel to get help with spreadsheets. Or ask XiaoYi to make an app for you. It’s like having a personal tech assistant.

Another cool feature is Touch and Share. It connects your phone and computer so you can share files and gaming progress easily. Just tap and share – it’s that simple.

Developers can now test HarmonyOS 6 through the Developer Beta Program. They can sign up until June 30, 2025. But they need to be part of the Huawei Developer Alliance.

Some devices that can update to HarmonyOS 6 include:

  • Huawei Mate 70 and 70 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 60 and 60 Pro
  • Huawei Mate X5
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 11-inch (2024)
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch (2025)
