Huawei has added a new member to its nova 14 family. After launching the standard nova 14, nova 14 Pro, and nova 14 Ultra in May 2025, the tech giant from China now introduces the nova 14i. This latest model appears to be a familiar face, seemingly a refreshed version of the Enjoy 60X or nova Y91, both released in 2023. It’s a smart move to reuse good design.
The nova 14i sports the same look as the nova Y91. Huawei has given it a fresh coat of paint, offering it in black and blue. The phone features a large 6.95-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution. It offers a decent 90 Hz refresh rate, which means smoother scrolling and visuals. The touch response is quick at 270 Hz. An 8-megapixel camera sits in a punch-hole cutout on the front.
What’s cool is that even with an LCD screen, the nova 14i includes an Always-On Display feature. This is something usually seen on more expensive phones that use OLED panels. It’s a nice touch for a mid-range device.
Under the hood, the nova 14i runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip. This processor first appeared in 2021, but it’s still capable. It’s built using efficient 6-nanometer technology. The chip has eight CPU cores, with the fastest reaching 2.40 GHz. The phone comes with 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB. It runs on EMUI 14.2, which was released in April 2024. Huawei did release EMUI 15 later in December 2024, but this model uses the earlier version.
For taking pictures, the back of the phone houses a 50-megapixel main camera. It also includes a 2-megapixel depth sensor to help with portrait shots.
Perhaps the biggest standout feature is the battery. The nova 14i packs a massive 7,000 mAh battery. It supports 22.5 W charging, all within a slim 8.9 mm body. Huawei claims this huge battery can power video playback for up to 26 hours. You could also make calls for 60 continuous hours on a full charge. That’s impressive endurance for anyone on the go.
Huawei has not yet shared details on pricing or when the nova 14i will be available. We expect to hear more on that soon.
