Booking Trends

The industry’s momentum continued from 2024, with a 14% year-over-year increase in total bookings. The first half of 2024 was particularly strong, with a 32% rise in the first quarter and 15% in the second. Bookings peak just before major holiday periods, with May and October being key months for summer and Christmas vacations, respectively.

Sipay’s data also shows that total transaction volume rose 20% in 2024, with spending per booking up 5% to 258 euros. Cards remain the preferred payment method due to their security and flexibility. As a result, the hotel sector is on a growth path, driven by rising average spending, diverse international tourism, and a preference for secure payment methods.
