Honda Confirms Aleix Espargaró for MotoGP Roster in 2025

Aleix Espargaró signs for Honda for 2025

Aleix Espargaró Joins Honda as Test Rider for 2025

It was an open secret. After his announcement of withdrawal at the weekend of the Catalan GP, it has become official that Aleix Espargaró signs for HRC as a test rider for 2025.

One of the most coveted pieces on the market for the teams that were looking for a test rider, Espargaró is a rider who fought for a world championship a few years ago and whose career has ended very well with Aprilia. He will bring his experience of almost 250 races in the premier class and three victories to a brand, the Japanese one, that is going through one of the worst moments in its history.

Espargaró will join Honda’s test rider program, where he has been for several seasons now. His job will be to develop the Honda RC213V and we will see if in the future we can see him as a ‘wild card’, like his brother Pol or Dani Pedrosa have done with KTM, and he can return to racing in the top category of motorcycling.

The HRC Statement

Honda Racing Corporation is to strengthen its testing programme with the addition of Aleix Espargaro as a test rider in 2025. With close to 250 races under his belt in the premier class, the 34-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience in Grand Prix machinery, as well as a pedigree of three wins and over 1,300 MotoGP points. He will join HRC stalwart Stefan Bradl to continue the development of the Honda RC213V.
