Harold Perrineau Teases ‘From’ Season 4 Premiere and His Legacy of Trapped Characters

The residents of Fromville are bracing for a whole new level of chaos. Tonight, the hit sci-fi mystery series From is scheduled to drop its highly anticipated fourth season on MGM+, and the stakes have literally never been higher. With the enigmatic 9:00 p.m. ET premiere poised to unleash the Man in Yellow across international streaming options, fans are about to edge closer to uncovering the terrifying true nature of the town.

Harold Perrineau is back as Sheriff Boyd Stevens, and the actor is acutely aware of his unique Hollywood niche. Speaking on set with Your Morning Atlantic‘s Lataevia Beezer, Perrineau joked about his recurring casting in isolated, inescapable roles. “I don’t know, I keep getting stuck in places that I can’t get out of,” Perrineau noted. “I get stuck in islands, prisons, the matrix, it just seems to be the thing that happens to me.”

While the show traps its characters in a purgatory-like American nightmare, the physical production actually takes place in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. Perrineau had high praise for the Canadian location, telling Beezer that his only complaint was missing his family. “Our crew is amazing, like our sets are amazing, I couldn’t be happier,” he added.

For long-time television junkies, Perrineau’s comments hit specifically hard given his history. Both the star and executive producers Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner share a direct creative lineage to the 2004 ABC phenomenon Lost, where Perrineau famously played Michael. But unlike the controversial ending of that island saga, the team behind From is openly avoiding the unanswered questions trap.

MGM+ recently confirmed the series is renewed for a fifth and final season. Production on that definitive endgame begins later this year for a 2027 release, ensuring that this nightmare actually has a meticulously planned wake-up call.
