The world of video games can be pretty surprising sometimes. We just heard some interesting news about “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.” Even without official sales numbers, this game is already a top seller in Europe. This is according to a survey done by GSD, a company that keeps track of game sales.
The information comes from The Game Business, which got it directly from GSD. GSD is known for tracking game sales data across Europe. They look at both console and PC games. This includes both digital copies and old-school retail discs. Right now, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is the number one best-selling game set to release in 2025. It’s only beaten by “EA Sports FC 25,” which launched last year.
GSD also shared some bigger trends about the European game market. Sales of games on consoles and PCs make up 74% of the whole market. This part of the market grew by about 2% compared to last year. Digital game sales saw a nice bump, going up by about 8%. On the other hand, physical disc sales dropped by 16%. Interestingly, the price for both digital games and physical discs went up by 15% from the year before. This shows how much people are willing to pay for new games.
