Google Assistant removes unnecessary “Hey Google” with this new feature

The Google assistant is the most used by those who have Android devices, but it is far from perfect. Unlike what happens in your smart columns to, for example, turn off an alarm, you must first give the command “Hello Google”.

But that will change. Your Google Assistant will get smarter with the “Quick Phrases” feature. In practice, this will allow you to skip the “Ok Google” part in certain situations.

Quick Phrases Eliminate “Ok Google” on Alarms or Calls

Let’s say you receive a call and you want to accept or cancel it using your voice. From the moment you activate the function, simply say “Reply” or “Decline”.

The same applies to alarms or timers. You can simply say “Stop” or “Snooze”. No more unnecessary “Hey Google” in very common situations.

Once available for all Android, this new function can be activated in the Google assistant settings. Of course, you must be aware of some “problems” caused by this activation.

As Google warns, if you or someone else says “answer”, the call will be answered immediately. Whether you are ready to attend or not. Depending on the need, it will be an activation to take into account.

Once the function is activated, Google warns you that it is not necessary to give the command “Hey Google”. The functionality has yet to be officially announced by Google, having been discovered in the latest beta version of Android 12 by XDA-Developers.
