Global temperature hits new record

The average global temperature reached a new record high of 17.18 degrees Celsius (62.92 Fahrenheit) on Tuesday, July 4th. The University of Maine has analyzed this data, although this does not mean that it is completely safe and error-free.

A new temperature record was set. This latest record from yesterday Tuesday surpassed the previous one, which was recorded just a few days ago. It’s amazing how scientists can track these numbers and track them back decades. It seems that our climate is becoming more and more unbalanced and this new record is just another example of that.

The combination of a weather phenomenon like the onset of El Niño and disastrous climate change has scientists warning that this will be one of the hottest years on record. An alarming situation that is repeated more and more due to human irresponsibility in caring for the planet.

Beginning of El Niño and high global temperature

In early June, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced the onset of El Niño, a weather phenomenon supposedly related to rising temperatures in the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.

According to NOAA, the El Niño effect could bring a rainy summer to the southern United States and the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Obviously, this means that there will be more precipitation in these areas, which can cause various complications and inconvenience for local residents and industries. It will be interesting to see how competent authorities deal with this situation and whether they are prepared to deal with the possible negative consequences that this may entail.

Robert Rohde of Berkeley Earth at the University of California indicated in a Twitter message that “this combination could bring even warmer days in the next six weeks”.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting extremely high temperatures for Wednesday in several US cities. Las Vegas, El Paso and Albuquerque could face temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius), while Phoenix could reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43.3 degrees Celsius). The heat will be unbearable!

In addition, temperatures between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius (90-100 degrees Fahrenheit) are forecast in San Antonio and Dallas (Texas), Jacksonville and Tampa (Florida), Oklahoma City (Oklahoma), Memphis (Tennessee), New Orleans, ( Louisiana) and Washington DC.
