Aaron Goodwin is still navigating a profound personal ordeal, processing the alleged murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his ex-wife. The star of Ghost Adventures shared an update on his emotional state, admitting he is far from recovered.
"Thanks to everyone for reaching out and being so amazing, but unfortunately, I still can’t talk about anything," Goodwin, 49, stated recently. "I could tell you I’m fine, but I’d rather be honest."
He confessed that he is struggling to come to terms with the events. Goodwin noted he is "not doing well at all" and that each day worsens as he uncovers more details. He expressed a strong desire for the divorce to conclude so he can begin to move forward with his life.
Goodwin has declined numerous media requests to share his story. He explained that he is not emotionally ready for interviews, fearing he "probably couldn’t get through an interview without crying." The reality star described the past year as the "worst year of my life."
The emotional toll follows the arrest of his estranged wife, Victoria Goodwin, earlier this year. She faced charges of planning and conspiring to commit murder. Victoria, who married Aaron in August 2022, was accused of contacting a Florida inmate, Grant Amato, to hire someone to kill Aaron in 2024 during filming for Ghost Adventures. Aaron filed for divorce shortly after news of Victoria’s arrest broke.

Victoria initially denied the allegations but later accepted a plea agreement in April. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder. Two months later, in June, Victoria was sentenced to between 36 and 90 months in prison. She also issued an apology to her ex-husband in court.
"I am so incredibly sorry for the pain and anxiety I have caused you," Victoria stated in court. She added her regret for the betrayal he undoubtedly felt and promised to remove herself from his life forever.
Aaron also delivered a victim impact statement in court that same month. He recounted believing he was in a loving relationship with his best friend for seven years. He emphasized his trust, loyalty, and efforts to make her happy, thinking they shared something special.
The divorce proceedings between Aaron and Victoria remain ongoing. Court documents obtained in August indicate Victoria responded to Aaron’s petition. While Aaron’s filing stated the couple was "incompatible" with "no possibility of reconciliation," Victoria’s response indicated she "believes" they could "reconcile" their marriage.
