The Mexican singer Gerardo Lares will premiere next Friday, on all digital music platforms and national radio, his new single “Vámonos pa’ la noche”, authored by the composer Alejandro Martínez, arranged by David Paredes and mixed by Polo Parra.
That day, Lares will also premiere the video clips that were directed by King David, who shot on location in Juan Dolio and Puerto Plata.
In addition to this song, Lares plays insistently on Dominican radio with the bachata “El Alumno”, a collaboration with Dominican bachatero Elvis Martínez.
The Dominican-Mexican fusion in this piece was the key spark to have reached more than a million views on YouTube, in just 10 days of release on all digital platforms.
It has remained in the top 5 of the most listened to bachatas in the country and in its opening week it reached number one as the most viral single on Dominican radio.
Gerardo was born on October 17 in Mexico. After standing out in 2011 in the band Imperial del Bajío Guanajuatense, he decided to launch himself as a soloist in 2014 with his first album “Abrázame, no tengas miedo”, which combines the three subgenres.
He became known in Mexico in the Norteño, Banda and Corridos subgenres, but in 2019, thanks to the Dominican culture, he discovered his passion for bachata and has since created a new style called “Bachata Azteca”.
In March 2021 he released his album “Bachata Azteca”, both for the local and international markets, made up of 10 songs produced by Miguel “El Chico” Veras.
The album’s first single, “Fue tan fácil”, reached the top 40 in the Dominican Republic, Music Choice’s top 20 tropical music, and the top 65 on Latinos Unidos Online in the United States. His second single, “Mi segunda vida”, reached the top 10 on Monitor Latino and the top 20 on Billboard’s tropical chart.
