Reliever Jimmy Cordero will start the campaign with the New York Yankees, a popular franchise that this afternoon, at 1:05, will host the San Francisco Giants.
The tall 31-year-old pitcher, who debuted with the Washington Nationals in 2018, hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2020, when he went 1-2 with a high 6.08 ERA.
In the recently concluded preseason, Jimmy had an ERA of 3.72 in 9.2 episodes, in which he fanned ten the breeze.
Another Lamb, Franchy, reached an agreement yesterday with the Yankees that would bring him a million dollars if he stays in the big team or 180 thousand if he is sent to the Minor Leagues.
Last Monday, in a surprising move, Franchy was released by the Baltimore Orioles, along with fellow Dominican outfielder Nomar Mazara, despite having averaged .432 in the preseason, the result of 19 hits, including four doubles, a triple and two home runs in 45 at-bats.
The veteran player has also donned the jerseys of the San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox.
